Tunnel ALERT See product this in action

A tunnel or narrow aisleway often creates a hazardous blind spot for workers that are near the exit. Tunnel ALERT's primary purpose is to alert pedestrians and other drivers that a forklift is in the tunnel and will be coming out soon. This wall mounted device employs a photo-sensor that sends out a perfectly safe red light beam to detect a reflective strip mounted on the forklift. The warning device (usually a strobe light) is activated when a forklift or other vehicle passes Tunnel ALERT.

Multiple Applications

  • Protect pedestrians at the tunnel exit
  • Protect drivers who are intending to enter the tunnel
  • Protect pedestrians at doors that open on to narrow aisleways
  • Protect tunnel exits
  • Open doors and operate other equipment
Easy Installation
  • Mount Tunnel ALERT on wall, column, ceiling, etc.
  • Mount warning device (e.g. strobe) at hazardous location
  • Connect AC adapter, Tunnel ALERT, and strobe/horn (all low voltage)
  • Place reflectors on forklift using adhesive backing

Tunnel ALERT consists of a Base Unit, an AC Power Adapter, and one or more alarm devices. Up to 4 devices can be controlled by one base unit. (Our A97 Audible Alarm and S470Y Strobe Light are pictured here).

Simple Setup

  • Select timeout (2 to 32 seconds)
  • Select mode (Timed, Uni-directional, Bi-directional)
Additional Features
  • All wiring is low voltage. Does not require conduit
  • Uses internal power to activate Strobe and Horn
  • Key switch prevents tampering
  • Warning may be visual (strobe light), audible (horn), or both
  • Auxiliary sensors can provide multiple functions
  • Dry-contact SPDT relay may be used to activate other devices (open doors, raise gates, etc.)

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Timed Mode
In the Timed Mode of operation the alarm is activated when the vehicle enters the tunnel or aisleway. The alarm deactivates after a set time duration. The time duration is selectable.

Uni-directional Mode
In the Uni-directional Mode of operation the alarm is activated when the vehicle enters one end of the tunnel or aisleway. An auxiliary unit, similar to the base unit, is mounted on the other end of the tunnel. When the vehicle passes the auxiliary unit the alarm is deactivated.

Bi-directional Mode
The Bi-directional Mode of operation is similar to the Uni-directional Mode in that it also utilizes a base unit and an auxiliary unit. However, in the Bi-directional Mode, the alarm is activated when a vehicle enters either end of the tunnel or aisleway. The alarm is deactivated as the vehicle leaves the tunnel by passing the unit on the other end.
